Fred Hughes memorial at New York's Dia Center for the Arts

Fred Hughes, the flamboyantly omnisexual right-hand man to Andy Warhol, died last month and will be remembered at a memorial service at the Dia Center for the Arts in New York on May 15, according to the New York Daily News. Hughes began sweeping the floor at Warhols Factory and quickly set about making himself vital to the running of Warhols life. He sustained serious injury during the 1968 assassination attempt on Warhol by bisexual Valerie Solanas. Hughess longtime friend, Whitney Tower III, is planning on memorializing him in a dishy book of remembrances from many of his friends. Tower recalls attending a party with Hughes and not being allowed to stay; Hughes took a look around the gathering and announced, Ive slept with everyone in this roommen, women, and the bartender. Lets get the hell out of here!
