THINKFilm, a newcomer in the independent distribution world, has acquired worldwide rights to the next film from gay director Thom Fitzgerald (The Hanging Garden, Beefcake), reports indieWIRE.com. The Event, which is still in production, stars Parker Posey, Olympia Dukakis, Don McKellar, Sarah Polley, Jane Leeves, and Brent Carver and is described as "an intense relationship drama that takes the form of a mystery...[and] centers around a series of unexplained deaths that occur among the gay community in New York's fashionable Chelsea district."
