Brother to Brother wins big at Outfest

Outfest, the Los Angeles gay and lesbian film festival, hosted its 10th annual Film Competition Awards Sunday, with Rodney Evans's drama Brother to Brother, about a contemporary gay African-American artist who receives inspiration from a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance, winning the Narrative Feature awards from both the jury and the audience as well as the best actor prize. Lee Friedlander's Girl Play took the Lesbian Narrative Feature trophy, and the film's leads, Robin Greenspan and Lacie Harmon, shared the best actress award.
