Singer hopes to fix Broadway-bound musical

Singer Elton John says the distractions of his recent wedding and his Las Vegas touring schedule has kept him from paying enough attention to his troubled musical Lestat, which is headed for Broadway. Based on Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat, the show was critically drubbed in its recent out-of-town tryouts in San Francisco. Sir Elton told the New York Post, "It is frustrating that I can't get there more often. I haven't been as helpful as I could be. But when the show is in New York, I'll be on the East Coast working in Atlanta, so I'll be popping in and out--any excuse to come to New York!" Lestat is set to go into previews March 25 for an April 25 opening in New York City. (Advocate.com)
