Former Culture Club front man Boy George was charged Thursday in London with false imprisonment of an escort. The 46-year-old singer and DJ, whose real name is George O'Dowd, was arrested in April at his east London home after allegedly chaining an unidentified 28-year-old man to a wall. He was released on bail with the condition that he not contact the alleged victim, according to U.K. newspaper The Independent.

O'Dowd did not enter a plea and spoke at the brief hearing to confirm only his date of birth and real name. He is scheduled to appear again at Snaresbrook Crown Court on February 25. (The Advocate)
