Cable network
here! Networks and Comcast Cable of Detroit announced
Wednesday a partnership with Affirmations, a Ferndale,
Mich.-based LGBT center, as part of a national
philanthropic campaign to support local organizations.
For each new Detroit subscriber to the network through
Comcast between April 29 and June 30, here! TV's Change
Starts Here campaign will donate $10 to Affirmations.
"Creating this
new initiative is an important part of the company's
mandate to support the communities and organizations that
are vital components of our audience," Paul Colichman,
founder and CEO of here! Networks, said in a
press release. "By participating in this initiative,
cable customers who subscribe to here! Networks will
have an opportunity to have their dollars work for important
philanthropic organizations and add our unique television
destination to their programming lineup."
To celebrate the
partnership, here! will screen its newest original film,
Shelter, at the auditorium of the Compuware
Headquarters in Detroit on April 29 at 7:30 p.m.
