Former Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington has filed a complaint against ABC after the show used the actor's image for a current story line. A photo of Washington's character, Dr. Preston Burke, was used in an episode that aired May 9 depicting a mock newspaper article about Burke's receiving a prestigious award, according to TheHollywood Reporter. The complaint, filed through the Screen Actors Guild, claims that Grey's Anatomy producers failed to ask for permission to use the photo.

"They have the rights of the character to advance the story, but not the image," Washington's manager, Howard Bragman, told the Reporter. He added that Washington is seeking a "financial settlement."

Washington was let go from the show in 2007 following his use -- on the set and later at an awards show -- of a homophobic slur in reference to costar T.R. Knight. (The Advocate)
