1. THEATER: Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City: A New Musical
Wesley Taylor and Josh Breckenridge star as Michael “Mouse” Tolliver and Jon Fielding, one of literature’s most memorable gay couples, in this musical adaptation of Maupin’s landmark novel series. The San Francisco–set show, which features a book by Avenue Q scribe Jeff Whitty and a score by Jake Shears and John Garden of the Scissor Sisters, fittingly opens May 31 at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater.
