10. DVD: Women in Prison
Fueling guilty adolescent fantasies with its predatory portrayal of lesbians, this unholy trinity of '80s exploitation flicks will be released July 12 on bad behavior. In Chained Heat -- uncut and remastered here -- Linda Blair stars as a naive newbie prisoner. Blair is back behind bars in Red Heat, which relocates to East Germany. In Jungle Warriors sexy models are imprisoned by an evil drug lord while on location in South America.

9. ARTS: Fresh Fruit Festival
Presented by All Out Arts, whose mission is to "fight discrimination through the arts," New York's ninth annual LGBT arts festival runs through July 24. Highlights include the world premiere of Dan Fingerman's The Austerity of Hope, a play about gay pals starring out actor-model Max Rhyser, and "Bright Lights, Queer City," a multimedia art show curated by Lady Clover Honey and Lovari. 8. CABARET: Gaylebrity
Provincetown, Mass., a town beloved for its crass drag shows and male revues, will get a touch of class when a couple of theater folks, Kate Pazakis and gay bestie Ethan Paulini, bring their new musical comedy chat show to the Provincetown Counter Productions Studio for an eight-week run starting July 10. 7. MUSIC: GMCLA's Totally! Our '80s Show
The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles ends its 2010-2011 season with a tribute to the '80s July 9 and 10 at Avalon Hollywood. Conducted by Andres Cladera with choreography by Ray Leeper, the '80s pop program, which will be peppered with rad videos, includes Pat Benatar's "We Belong," Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," Depeche Mode's "People Are People," and Michael Jackson's "Thriller." 6. DVD: Southland: The Complete Second Season
This gritty TNT cop drama stars O.C. cutie Benjamin McKenzie and 227's Regina King, but we've been totally arrested by Michael Cudlitz, who has turned stereotypes on their head as semicloseted gay LAPD patrol officer John Cooper, an addict who has been seen waking up in bed with a man and scoring pain meds in a gay bar. The uncensored -- no bleeps! -- second season is finally out on DVD July 8, more than a year after its finale aired.

5. TV: HGTV Design Star
This interior design competition is always good for some colorful gay contestants, but the show gets a splashy gay makeover when its new season premieres July 11 on HGTV: Season 1 winner David Bromstad takes a break from his own HGTV series, Color Splash, to channel Tim Gunn as a compassionate mentor to the designer hopefuls. With Extra alum Tanika Ray taking over hosting duties, last season's host, out designer Vern Yip, remains as a judge.

4. EVENT: Broadway Barks!
Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore host this 13th annual dog and cat adopt-a-thon, which benefits New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and held July 9 in Shubert Alley, the popular event features appearances by gay performers such as Nick Adams, John Benjamin Hickey, Joe Mantello, Rory O'Malley, and Brad Oscar. 3. BOOK: Nicholas Ray: The Glorious Failure of an American Director
In his latest page-turner, which is on shelves July 12, Hollywood biographer Pat McGilligan takes on Nicholas Ray, the troubled filmmaker best known for the 1950s classics Johnny Guitar and Rebel Without a Cause. Frankly yet respectfully chronicling Ray's drug-fueled downfall, McGilligan also explores the reported bisexuality of the director, who was rumored to have had an affair with James Dean, among other men.

2. TV: Warehouse 13
Under the supervision of out show-runner and executive producer Jack Kenny (The Book of Daniel), this paranormal mystery series gets its first gay character when it returns for a third season July 11 on Syfy. Smallville's Aaron Ashmore, who previously played gay in Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, joins the cast as emotionally conservative gay ATF agent Steve Jinks, who has an uncanny ability to discern whether someone is lying.

1. TV: Torchwood: Miracle Day
Starting July 8 on Starz, the fourth season of Torchwood -- the British sci-fi spin-off of Doctor Who -- is the first to premiere and take place stateside. Gay series creator Russell T. Davies, who created the original Queer as Folk, explores what might happen if people suddenly stopped dying, causing the world's population to dangerously increase. Out actor John Barrowman is back as omnisexual time-traveling hero Capt. Jack Harkness.
