L.A.’s venerable LGBT film festival celebrates three decades with one of its strongest lineups yet. Besides new works such as the explicit erotic drama I Want Your Love, the evocative Joshua Tree 1951: A Portrait of James Dean (pictured), Haley Joel Osment as a gay twink in the raucous comedy Sassy Pants, you can catch the anniversary screening of 1982’s groundbreaking Making Love as well as a sing-along Hairspray. On opening night maverick director John Waters will be presented with the prestigious Outfest Achievement Award by the original Tracy Turnblad, Ricki Lake. Thursday through July 22.
