10. MUSIC: "Picture Me," Susanna Hoffs
With Someday,released in July, the cofounder of the Bangles put out her first solo album in more than a decade. Hoffs's new video for "Picture Me," though, is filled with young love -- including a lesbian couple adorably playing the guitar together and cuddling at the beach.

9. DVD: Sordid Confessions, Del Shores
The creator of Sordid Lives, Del Shores, took his hilarious and raunchy stories on the road and out of it came Sordid Confessions,available this week on DVD. His stand-up act includes many a love story and dish about his career, including as a writer for Queer as Folk.

8. EVENT: New York Burlesque Festival
The Saturday Spectacular at BB King's in Manhattan is hosted by drag king Murray Hill (pictured in the suit above) and it includes more than 40 burlesque performers in a 1920s supper club atmosphere to start with, followed by a go-go dance party at 11 p.m. Then the annual Golden Pastie Awards, hosted this year on Sunday by Miss Astrid at the Highline Ballroom, brings out the glitz. 7. MUSIC: Who Needs Who, Dark Dark Dark
The new album from these Minneapolis folkers, Who Needs Who, doesn't drop until Tuesday. But the entire album is streaming now on Stereogum. Best bets are "Tell Me" and "How It Went Down."

6. EVENT: Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
From Gayby to Keep the Lights On, this is your chance, Floridians, to see what's amazing in LGBT film right now. There's a lot to see, including David W. Ross in I Do, which is shown above. And then there's Ryan Vigilant and Ben Weaver in Naked as We Came.The festival runs from October 4 through October 7.

5. WEB SERIES: Shit Girls Say
Kyle Humphrey and Graydon Sheppard, who have been together for years, became the inventors of one of the year's biggest Internet memes with their Shit Girls Say video. Their new book of the same title released this week should find its home on your coffee table, where it will entertain visitors with one-liners bound to be repeated out loud.

4. BOOK: The Casual Vacancy, J.K. Rowling
The author of the Harry Potter series is back with her first book that is officially for adults, The Casual Vacancy. Avid Potter fans will remember that Rowling revealed the wizard Dumbledore to be gay, even though it wasn't explicit in the books. This new book goes a step further and includes a lesbian coming out to her dumbfounded mother. On sale now.

3. FILM: The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Actor Ezra Miller, who told Out magazine he identifies as queer, stars as a gay high school student in the film adaptation of the much-loved novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The film moves from its success so far in limited release to a national audience this weekend. It's actually so hard to pick the best photo of Miller that Gay.net compiled 100 of the most memorable.

2. MUSIC: "Your Body," Christina Aguilera
We have a feeling you'll hear this one a few times, probably with drink in hand, after dark. Christina Aguilera sings the words so you don't have to: "All I want to do is love your body!" (That's the censored version.) The new video for "Your Body" has her meeting a surprising number of hot men, some of whom explode in neon confetti.
