Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, the cult sci-fi-horror musical starring Neil Patrick Harris and directed by The Avengers' Joss Whedon, will make its network television debut four years after it was filmed, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Harris stars as Billy, whose alter ego Dr. Horrible is a budding super villain with plans for world domination. The three-part video was created by Whedon during the 2008 Writers Guild strike and has been available online and through streaming since then. The 42-minutes-long musical will be broadcast on the CW October 9 at 9 p.m.
