The latest news about Lance Bass, the gay singer and entertainer who rose to fame in the boy band 'N Sync. Born as James Lance Bass in Mississippi, Bass came out publicly on the cover of People magazine in 2006, and recounted his experiences as a closeted superstar in his biography, Out of Sync. He was honored for the move by HRC. Bass has become a public figure in the LGBT movement toward equality, endorsing such organizations as GLAAD, GLSEN, and Lambda Legal.

The former N'Sync star tells Ricki Lake that despite knowing he was gay since age 4, he prayed nightly that he would "wake up straight."
