While I often have my fair share of reactions to the content of your magazine, I have never been so offended as I was by your recent Sex Issue. I suppose I didn't realize that when you said sex, you only meant gay white male sex, but the lack of images of women and people of color soon reminded me just how far this magazine and our community need to go to embrace our own inherent diversity. Very subtly and with one small issue, The Advocate successfully reinforced the notion that white and male remain synonymous with 'gay' and apparently with 'sex' as well. Shame on all of you. As a white male, I just wanted you to know that this clear example of modern racism and sexism did not go unnoticed.
