Barack Obama

Regarding Obama's interview, I've heard several of my friends refer to him as Slick Barry. He did rather slide around the issue of the word "marriage," making it our responsibility alone to make it happen, which is nothing less than a total cop out for a man personally affected by civil rights issues. I'm not sure why the interviewer didn't just come out and ask him the hard question: "Why are you personally against us using the word 'marriage' to define our committed relationships?" I understand that H. Clinton, her generation, and her supporters (of which I am one) are less inclined to be as open-minded. But Obama, who is claiming to be the champion of the upcoming generation guaranteeing to bring a new face to Washington politics, ought to do more to prove himself worthy of that title. In reality, I think he's just more of the same ol' same ol'. But that doesn't bother me. The major change I am seeking is to get the Republicans out and the Democrats in. Then we can work toward our own marriage equality.
