2015: The Year That Changed the World for LGBT People

This one will go down in the history books.

Over the past year, a lot has happened to advance the rights and visibility of the national LGBT community. Out politicians were elected to public office. The gears started moving to allow trans people to finally openly serve their country in the military. And the right to marry the person you love was extended to same-sex couples all over the country.

While there is still plenty of work to be done, it's always nice to look back on the many milestones that were accomplished, and that's exactly what the Los Angeles LGBT Center did in a newly released video showcasing the best moments for LGBT people in 2015.

Featured in the video are some of the best moments over the last 12 months, including the scene outside of the Supreme Court when marriage equality was passed, as well as other, more solemn moments, like when MSNBC's Janet Mock paid tribute to all of the trans women who lost their lives this year.
