New Anthony Rapp musical to open in New York
Out Broadway star Anthony Rapp (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) will star opposite his Rent cohort Yassmin Alers in the new musical Mister, according to Playbill.com. Rapp will star as Jon, a recent Yale graduate spending his first year of teaching in an inner-city high school, where he falls in love with the older sister (Alers) of one of his students. Their relationship is threatened by a student's death, for which Jon is blamed. Mister, which features book and lyrics by Tony Vellela and music by Misha Piatigorsky, will run April 9-30 at New York's Present Company Theatorium. For tickets, call (212) 420-8877.
