DJ Irene nominated for Golden Turntable Award
Popular lesbian disc-spinner DJ Irene, currently considered to be the nation's top-selling female DJ, has been nominated for a Golden Turntable award. The Golden Turntables will be presented to top DJs during the ClubNation 2002 event to be held at New York's Webster Hall on October 2. Irene was nominated for Best National DJ and will be competing against such big names in the field as Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, and Christopher Lawrence & Sandra Collins. Prominent nominees in other categories include Basement Jaxx, Paul Oakenfold, Timo Maas, Sasha & Digweed, Junior Vasquez, and Victor Calderone.
