Former Miss America releases recording to benefit AIDS research (6342)

Former Miss America Kate Shindle, called by Newsweek "the most controversial Miss America since Vanessa Williams met Penthouse magazine," has released a debut solo album, some of the proceeds from which will benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Shindle was crowned Miss America in 1998 and made part of her mission to educate people across the country about HIV/AIDS. Shindle has since appeared on Broadway in Cabaret and Jekyll and Hyde.

Her debut recording, Till Today, features a mix of old and new songs by Broadway composers and musicians as well as songs from the musicals Pippin and Summer of '42. The recording is distributed by Electric Kingdom Distribution and is also available online at www.kateshindle.net. One dollar from each recording sold will be donated to the Glaser Foundation.
