Friends Oscar night gala, March 5 in S.F.

The gala event "Rubies & Rhinestones: The Glitz and Glamour of American Film" on Oscar night--Sunday, March 5--will benefit HIV and AIDS services across eight Bay Area counties. Hosted by the Academy of Friends, the event begins at 5 p.m. at the Concourse Exhibition Center, 8th and Brannan streets in San Francisco. Photographer Herb Ritts's last published photographic nude has been donated by the Herb Ritts Foundation for the event, and bidding will close March 5.
