Amy Errett, CEO
of Olivia, and Judy Dlugacz, the company's founder
and president, were awarded the Ernst and Young
Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Consumer
Services category in Northern California. As the
Northern California winners, Errett and Dlugacz are eligible
for the national award, to be given November 18
in Palm Springs.
Olivia describes itself as the number 1 lesbian lifestyle
company in the world. In the near future the company
will be launching Olivia.com, Olivia Magazine, and
Olivia Living, an active adult retirement community.
An independent panel of judges chose the Ernst and Young
Entrepreneur of the Year award winners for their
outstanding work in building and leading a dynamic and
growing business. The award was presented at the Ernst and
Young Entrepreneur of the Year 20th Anniversary Gala, held
at the San Francisco Fairmont on June 16.
In a statement Dlugacz said, "For more than 30 years
we have been evolving Olivia the company for the
benefit of our extraordinary clients. This is an
historic award, since we have been recognized by E&Y for
doing what we love to do most, which is serving and
empowering women."
