Gay day planned
at London zoo

It's often been observed that the gay dating scene can be a zoo. Now, organizers at the London Zoological Society plan to ensure that it is. They've planned a Gay Sunday at the Zoo for this fall. The Sunday Mirror reports the event is aimed at raising awareness of gay and lesbian culture and endangered wildlife, all at the same time. Visitors will be met by drag artists and entertained by a jazz band and fire jugglers. They'll also get a chance to hobnob with British celebs; among those invited are Sir Elton John, Graham Norton, and Erasure front man Andy Bell. Food for thought at the event will include a panel discussion on homosexuality in the animal kingdom featuring wildlife experts. Tickets for the September 17 event will sell for $27 at the gate.
