Most Israelis
would accept the fact that their child is gay if the
child told them, a new poll reports. Only 27% of
respondents said that their child's coming out as gay
would affect their relationship negatively, while the
rest of the pool said that it was perfectly fine or
that they would be regretful but accepting, according to a
Ynet-Gesher poll.
The results
showed that 79% of mothers said that they would accept their
children in spite of their sexual orientation, in contrast
to 66% of fathers. Secular respondents proved to be
more accepting than religious ones, with 86%
responding that they would be accepting of their child to
some degree. (The Advocate)
