A new advertisement from Protect Marriage Washington plants the
conversation about relationship recognition in the Garden of Eden, urging voters to reject Referendum
71 in the name of God. If approved, the ballot initiative would uphold
the expanded domestic-partnership law that legislators passed and the
governor signed this spring.

“God established and defined marriage between a man and woman,” says a booming voice set to a background of celestial and biblical scenery. “What God has joined together, let not man put asunder. Senate bill 5688 violates God’s mandate.”
