Hundreds of New Yorkers, including Governor David Paterson, gathered at
New York City's Union Square Thursday night to rally for marriage
equality. The rally was the second in two nights in response to the
state senate 38-24 vote Wednesday against legalizing same-sex marriage.
Andy Towle, of the blog Towleroad, was at the event and reported: "It was hard for me to see from where I was how many people were there. Definitely many hundreds, perhaps more than a thousand." Towle posted several photos, which can be seen here. Openly gay state senator Tom Duane, who was among those to address the crowd, can be seen in the video below.
