Just hours after reality show star Tila Tequila announced her engagement to Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson, another socialite has stepped forward saying the entire thing is bogus.
They don't even speak," Courtenay Semel, daughter of former Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel, told Mark Malkin for an E! Online story Thursday. "Casey can't stand Tila. They've only spoken once, and they're doing this as a publicity stunt to get back at me."
Semel and Tequila dated briefly in 2008.
She went on to say that Tequila’s huge rock of an engagement ring is a fake — because Johnson has been cut off by her family and can’t even afford to fill her car with gas.
Tequila was quick to respond to allegations the engagement is fake.
"Casey and I are very happily engaged and excited to plan our wedding in Massachusetts, where we can be legally married," Tequila told E! Online. "And as for Courtenay, we hope that she minds her own business and stays classy."
