Rachel Maddow Thursday night reviewed the record of pastor Rick
Warren on antigay legislation in Uganda leading up to his denunciation
of the bill in a YouTube video on Wednesday.
Warren condemned the bill, which initially included punishments including death for gay people in Uganda, as “unjust, extreme and un-Christian.”
Maddow called the pronouncement something to file under the “better late than never category,” as she revisited Warren’s refusal to denounce the bill as recently as last week.
”Rick Warren has finally decided to come out against the legislation, as if he had been against it all along,” said Maddow.
