The shirts off the backs of Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig helped the stars of A Steady Rain raise $1,549,952 for a good cause.
The stars were presented with the All-Time Top Fundraising Award last week at the annual Gypsy of the Year competition. The money raised went toward a cumulative record $4.6 million for Broadway Cares/Equity AIDS.
According to Playbill.com, Jackman and Craig's shirts, worn during each show, fetched anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 nightly. Collection buckets also lined lobbies for theater patrons to throw in their donations. Additionally, autographed posters were sold for $300, signed playbills were $60, and backstage photos went for $2,000.
