Katy Perry kissed a girl, liked it, and won over scores of gay fans as a result. But a recent tweet from the singer — in which she posted a nude photo of what appears to be a transgender man and then mocked the person — has her in hot water with gay activists and media watchdog Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
Perry posted the pic on December 6 along with the tweet: "NSFW! I knew those little white last week of the birth control pills would still have an effect on your body! FU."
The photo, which has since been removed, featured a nude man with a beard, a hairy chest, and breasts.
"Making fun of transgender people’s bodies is deeply offensive," GLAAD wrote on its blog. "Perry’s ridicule dehumanizes this person and ignores the courage and resolve it takes to live within a transphobic society."
GLAAD is encouraging those offended to tweet Perry.
