Sherlock Holmes stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law have long been telling the press they are infusing their version of the classic detective story with a hint of “homoeroticism,” saying their Holmes and Watson will have an “affectionate bromance.”
Now, according to gossip site PopEater.com, film executives at Warner Bros. are running scared, saying they’re trying to market the movie as an action flick, “not Brokeback Mountain 2.”
According to PopEater, “When Robert joked with [David] Letterman that they might be homos, Warner Bros. executives died,” laughed one industry insider who believes Downey is messing with studio bigwigs. “The studio wants to position this as an action-packed adventure, not Brokeback Mountain 2.”
