Glee continues its winning streak with the announcement of two Dorian Awards. The Fox television phenomenon about a misfit-filled high school show choir scored with wins for Best TV Musical or Comedy and for star Jane Lynch, who nabbed TV Performance of the Year in the comedy division. In addition to the Dorian, Glee was also named Best Musical Comedy series at the Golden Globes this past Sunday. Other winners include A Single Man star Colin Firth for Film Performance of the Year; MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow, who was named Savage Wit of 2009; and Prayers for Bobby, Lifetime’s gay suicide tale, taking the LGBT-themed TV drama prize.
The Dorian Awards are voted on by the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association, which is composed of film and television journalists and historians writing or commenting for such media outlets as The Advocate, TV Guide, and Us Weekly.
