Lt. Dan Choi spoke with Wolf Blitzer on CNN about his recent return to drill with his Army National Guard unit.
Blitzer asked Choi what kind of reception he received.
"It felt great," said Choi. "It was like a homecoming"
"The thing that I found the most amazing was that so many people just wanted to come up to me and tell me about their gay brother or that they’re OK with gay people or they know gay people, and it’s so great," added Choi. "It really opened up the conversation. People were allowed to be honest."
Choi said he could still be discharged any day under the "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
