Never one to hold back on sharing his opinion, shock jock Howard Stern asserted on his radio program that new American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres will ruin the popular talent competition. During the broadcast of his Sirius radio show Stern, who is rumored to be a contender to replace the departing Simon Cowell, declared, “Everyone goes, 'If Howard Stern takes over American Idol, Ellen DeGeneres might leave.' Well, yeah, that's the whole [expletive] idea. I’m not going to sit there with her — that dummy.”
While Stern seems an odd choice to judge competing music performers, he is tied directly to Idol history, having almost singlehandedly altered the course of the Fox hit in 2007 when he mischievously urged his legions of listeners to vote for Sanjaya Malakar, who was considered one of the least talented contestants that season.
