Two Arrested in Gay Indian Prof’s Death

Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of Srinivas Ramchandra Siras (pictured), a prominent modern languages scholar at Aligarh Muslim University who died suspiciously after being entrapped in a gay sex sting.
According to NDTV, suspects “Adil Murtaza and Shiraz, both local journalists, carried out a sting operation on the AMU professor.”
Siras, who was 62,was found dead in his on-campus residence at the school in Uttar Pradesh on April 7, shortly after a court-ordered reinstatement from a suspension issued over his capture in the sting operation.
The autopsy on Siras was inconclusive, with no evidence of initially suspected death causes including murder, suicide, or heart attack.
