"She'll always be in my life," rock star Melissa Etheridge said of her ex-wife to Oprah Winfrey on a taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show Friday, reports People magazine.
The singer made her first appearance and gave her first interview since confirming her split from actress Tammy Lynn Michaels on April 15. Etheridge didn’t offer a reason for the breakup other than telling Winfrey, "It's as mutual as those things can be."
Etheridge and Michaels, who often used the surname Etheridge, exchanged vows in Malibu, Calif., in September 2003, and Michaels gave birth to their two children, twins Miller and Johnnie Rose, in 2006.
Etheridge, who also has two other children with former partner Julie Cypher, told Winfrey that she and Michaels will coparent the twins.
