Michael Patrick King, a creative force behind Sex and the City, will return to television as part of a mega-deal with Warner Bros. Television, according to the blog Deadline Hollywood. As part of the multiyear deal, King plans to focus on cultivating new writers and overseeing the development of new series for Warner Bros.
In addition to the long-running hit series that introduced Carrie Bradshaw to viewing audiences, King is also responsible for the surreal Lisa Kudrow series The Comeback, which ran for one season on HBO in 2005 but has since garnered a cult following.
King directed, produced, and wrote the 2008 blockbuster film version of Sex and the City and the sequel, Sex and the City 2, which will open in theaters May 27.
