Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore has chosen The Kids Are All Right to lead off his sixth annual Traverse City Film Festival later this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The festival brings films with a limited release to Traverse City, Mich., about 250 miles northwest of Detroit.
Though Kids opened on only a handful of screens last weekend, Lisa Cholodenko's film grossed $505,000. The film is about a family headed by a lesbian couple (played by Annette Bening and Julianne Moore) who come face to face with the biological father (Mark Ruffalo) of their near-adult children.
Kids will open the festival along with Nowhere Boy, which takes a look at the childhood of musical legend John Lennon. The festival will also pay tribute to the Fab Four with screenings of A Hard Day's Night and Help!
