Elton John is planning to reteam with Billy Elliot screenwriter Lee Hall on a stage musical adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, reports the Daily Mail. The two men previously worked together on the hit stage version of Billy Elliot, currently being performed in both London and New York and for which Hall won Olivier and Tony awards for his book and lyrics. Orwell’s classic 1945 novella, viewed as an allegory of Stalinism, depicts a revolution gone wrong when the downtrodden beasts of Manor Farm oust their drunken human master and take over management of the land.
