Elton John delivered an expletive-filled rant against musicians who have decided against performing in Arizona due to the state's controversial SB 1070 immigration law, reports the newspaper Arizona Daily Star. The singer was onstage during a sold-out concert in Tuscon when he decided to blast a number of entertainers who have canceled concerts in the state.
"We are all very pleased to be playing in Arizona. I have read that some of the artists won't come here," the singer said. "They are (expletive)wits! Let's face it: I still play in California, and as a gay man I have no legal rights whatsoever. So what's the (expletive) with these people?"
Last month, John, who is married to partner David Furnish, angered many gay and lesbian fans by performing at the wedding of conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, an outspoken opponent of gay marriage.
