An Iranian man who has lived in the US since he was 14 years old fears he may be deported back to a country where his sexuality could cost him his life.
Mohammed Abdollahi, 24, was detained in May by Immigration and Customs
Enforcement officials and now faces potential deportation to Iran,
where homosexuality is a capital offense.
Though he has lived here for 10 years when his parents moved to the US to study at a state university, Abdollahi's removal proceedings are scheduled for a later date this summer.
"It's not something I can imagine," Abdollahi said of returning to Iran in an interview with ABC News. "It would be a very scary thing because I haven't hidden my sexuality in talking with friends or the media."
