Every hour, Best Buy stores around the country run a promotional video showcasing Matt Morris’s album When Everything Breaks Open.
On July 31 the out singer filmed himself watching the promotional video in a Best Buy and uploaded the footage to his website. The next day Morris learned of Best Buy’s $100K donation to a conservative political action committee that backs antigay Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer.
Now, Morris is calling on fans to swing by their local Best Buy and, while picking up a copy of his CD, leaving behind the Human Rights Campaign’s open letter to Best Buy and Target urging the company to stop contributing money to antigay candidates and support equality.
