The chief of staff for Dallas mayor Tom Leppert was one of several gay partygoers denied entry last week to a downtown nightclub while straight couples were allowed to enter.
Chris Heinbaugh (pictured) told the Dallas Voice he complained to the management at the PM Nightclub and spoke again later in the week to the club’s general manager, Brendan Carlin.
"I'm satisfied after talking with them that they get it," Heinbaugh said. "They understand why this was so frustrating. At least at that upper level, they don't want to see that happen.”
Heinbaugh says he doesn’t think bouncers were discriminating against his group, but he thinks they were keeping the group of guys out to maintain a "gender balance" in the club.
