A billboard in Toledo, Ohio, has become a conversation piece for saying that being gay is a gift from God.
Dan Rutt of the Central United Methodist Church put up the digital billboard, in hopes that it would encourage conversation.
He told WNWO News that the billboard is intended for people with differing perspectives. "We welcome that and look forward to that, so let the conversation begin.”
Rutt said there has been response from the billboard all around the world — some in favor, others opposed. While some have written to Rutt in condemnation, one particular e-mail Rutt received said, "Mazel tov on your 'Gay is a Gift from God' campaign! I love that your church isn't just quietly welcoming — you're ready to shout about God's perfect love for LGBTQ people from the rooftops!"
