Their "It's Time" ad to raise awareness for marriage equality has been viewed by more than 1 million people and now the producers want it aired on TV before next weekend's vote to end marriage discrimination.
GetUp! for Action, an organization that raises awareness for marriage equality in Australia, released the commercial last Thursday from the perspective of one half of a gay couple in love. It builds to the big moment that they want legalized — a proposal to get married. The clip immediately went viral and within three days has had more than 1 million viewings.
This time next weekend, delegates at the ALP National Conference will be voting on whether to make it their policy to end marriage discrimination and the "It's Time" ad potentially has the power to influence their decision...if it can be seen by even more people.
