WATCH: An Italian Dream About Equal Love

Just in time for Valentine's Day, the Italian gay rights group, Arcigay, has released a video whose message needs no translation.
In it, a gay couple is able to stand before supportive friends and family and get married. But the video is aspirational because Italy doesn't recognize any form of same-sex partnership, nevermind marriage.
The video is one of the latest to emphasize the importance of marriage in expressing commitment rather than as a way to win benefits — an important distinction that is likely to have sway with the movable middle, according to research from the Washington think tank, The Third Way.
Among the first to make that case effectively was "It's Time," produced by Australian activists trying to win marriage equality in their country. That video recently passed the 5 million views mark on YouTube, showing it struck a chord internationally.
