The West Hollywood video bar that one reviewer described as "a Cheers for homos" is back, complete with the revolving front door that welcomed patrons in its heyday during the '80s and '90s.

Revolver reopened in October, bringing back memories for Frontiers writer Dana Miller.

"In its prime with Madonna or Mommy Dearest screaming on the screens, Revolver was a sort of community center offering shelter from many a storm," he wrote about its reemergence. "Cocktails were gently mixed with love and loneliness and common bonds and battles. It was a place we gathered to collectively flip off the haters and drank swill to face the ill."

The new Revolver is owned by Los Angeles restaurateur Alfredo Diaz and Chris Miller, co-president of Flower Films.

"Chris and I had talked for years about our shared fondness of Revolver and wanting to bring back our version of the popular bar someday," said Diaz in a news release about the once "iconic bar" and their "updated version."
