The show will open in the the Mandalay Bay Theatre on May 2, 2009, with preview performances beginning April 20. This is the seventh company of The Lion King and joins productions around the world in New York, London, Hamburg, Paris, Tokyo, and Fukuoka. This will also be the first Disney theatrical production in Las Vegas.
“We’re incredibly pleased to bring The Lion King to the audiences of Las Vegas,” Thomas Schumacher, producer of The Lion King and president of Disney Theatrical Group, said in a press release. “Mandalay Bay has seen great success with other shows thanks to its extraordinary commitment to producing theater of the highest caliber.
