Age: Too young to rock to Phil Collins and too old to dance to the Cheetah Girls, Location: Atlanta, Blog: ArjanWrites.com

Year launched: 2003

Visitors per month: 180,000 and growing

Why you started: "I love music and sharing good music with other people. I'm a sucker for pop candy with a little bite to it. I post guilt-free MP3s, video streams, celebrity interviews, photos, and much more. My blog is primarily written for gays and reflects the rich musical taste of our community--I cover not only dance music or show tunes but also hip new indie rock, kicky remixes, foreign hits, and other eclectic selections you would not normally hear on the radio."

Purpose of blog: "Music is more available than ever because of iTunes and sites like MySpace. However, many people have a hard time finding cool new music and don't have the time to browse through hundreds of MySpace pages to find a band that they like. ArjanWrites.com gives them a convenient selection of hot new artists and songs to look out for."

Year you quit your day job: "One day..."

How you pay your bills: "Gay.com ads and record labels."

Strangest item: "I interviewed the Pet Shop Boys in Beijing, which was one of the most unusual but fun chats I've ever done, and it led to an inspired posting."

Hottest links: "My post about music that is played at Abercrombie & Fitch stores, and a story about the Killers' Brandon Flowers talking about gay fans and his love for Morrissey. Also, recent posts about pop phenom Mika are getting an enormous amount of clicks."

My music picks for 2007: "Amy Winehouse (a hot mess), Chester French (cute Harvard prep boys), and Lo-Fi-Fnk ('80s electro-pop from Sweden). Also, keep your eye on Sony's Music With a Twist gay imprint that will release music from gay crooners Adam Joseph and Matthew Duffy."
