As part of its program Song(Writer)s Without Words, the Eos Orchestra will perform a concertino written by gay composer and Broadway fixture Stephen Sondheim in 1949. The New York Times reports that the concertino, which was originally scored for two pianos, was written while Sondheim was a student at Williams College. The piece has been orchestrated by Jonathan Sheffer, who will also conduct what will be the premiere of the 52-year-old work. The program will take place at New Yorks Society for Ethical Culture Thursday night, May 17.
