As part of its “Chick Flicks” short films, stop-motion animated parodies of films aimed primarily at a female audience for its program X-Chromosome, the cable network Oxygen will feature Bitanic, a skewed version of the popular disaster-romance film. In this version the young maiden is still engaged to the evil fiancé and loses her heart to the baby-faced lad traveling steerage, but she also catches the eye of the ship’s comedian, Ellen DeGeneres, who shows the lady high adventure on the high seas. The segment is set to air on May 19 at 9:30 Eastern and Pacific time; check local listings.
